According To Science, Here Is The Healthy Amount Of Time To Have Intercourse In A Month

Have you ever wondered if the amount of s*x you’re having is normal? It’s completely natural to have insecurities around how much intercourse you and a partner engage in. But, it’s important to keep in mind each relationship is different, with varying s*xual needs.

It’s a tough question to answer, especially as you get older. While most of us would obviously like to be spending our lives in a perpetual state of boinkage, the truth is that the responsibilities of work and home life often get in the way, and it gets tougher and tougher to figure out how to slot it in (both literally and figuratively).

According to Cleveland clinic, in this article we’ll be discussing the scientific facts about how frequent couples should have intercourse.

A 2017 study published in Archives of S*xual Behavior studied the sexual behavior of just over 26,000 people from 1989 to 2014. It found that the average adult has intercourse 54 times a year, or an average of about once a week. Once a week is a common baseline, experts say. That statistic depends slightly on age: 40- and 50-year-olds tend to fall around that baseline, while 20- to 30-year olds tend to average around twice a week.

It also found that, for married couples, the number stayed almost the same — 51 times a year. However, the frequency changed depending on age: 20-somethings reported having sex around 80 times a year, whereas the number drops to 20 for 60-somethings. It’s also important to note that “s*x” is a broad term that encompasses many s*xual acts. Therefore, definitions can vary from person to person.
